Dr. Cavallaro grew up in Buffalo, New York, in an Italian family from Sicily. He attended Canisius College where he completed his degree in Pre Med., and Biology/Chemistry. He went on to Cleveland, Ohio and earned his degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his studies there in 1977. Dr. Cavallaro finished his professional training by completing his Residency at Doctors General Hospital and the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, in Oklahoma City. Dr. Cavallaro is Board Certified in Foot & Ankle Surgery. Among his other professional affiliations, Dr. Cavallaro is a Board member and examiner for the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. His duties include credentialing, writing proctor and oral examiner. Since 1998, Dr. Cavallaro also works as an Independent Medical Examiner for the Oklahoma Workers Compensation Court. Dr. Cavallaro also serves as an Assistant Residency Director for the Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, since 2006.
In 1998, Dr. Cavallaro volunteered his surgical services through God’s Calling, and he also performs more than 100 surgeries, yearly in Honduras. He has been providing surgeries in Honduras for the past 17 years.
Dr. Cavallaro joined the Orthopaedic & Reconstructive Center in April, 2014. He conducts clinic Monday’s and Thursday’s from 8-5 and 8-12 on Friday’s. Dr. Cavallaro does most of his surgeries at Surgical Hospital of Oklahoma but is also privileges at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, Midwest City Regional Hospital, Integris Southwest and Baptist Medical Centers, St. Anthony’s Hospital and Physicians Hospital of Oklahoma.
In his personal time, Dr. Cavallaro enjoys spending time with his family. He is also passionate about ministering through the Redeeming Love Prison Ministry of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Cavallaro has ministered at Mabel Basset Prison Correctional Center in Mcloud, OK., The Oklahoma County Jail, The Federal Prisoner Transfer Center at Will Rogers World Airport and the Oklahoma Juvenile Detention Center. He is also ministered through Prison Ministries at Death Row and is a Board Member of this organization. He has also witnessed to prisoners at McAlister Prison OSP through Prison Ministries at Death Row, since 2004.
